A midwife educator and advisor with over 35 years experience, Christina holds a PhD and Masters Degree in advanced midwifery practice and Sexual and Reproductive Health. She is a winner of the International Confederation of Midwives Marie Gourbran Award 2011 given for demonstrating outstanding leadership potential and extraordinary commitment to childbearing women and their families.

She is a researcher who has supervised undergraduate and graduate nursing students and midwives’ research projects and has been a trainer and supervisor in research work for African Midwives Research Network for more than 10 years at regional and national levels, contributing to the development of research in the region and promoting evidence-based midwifery practice. She was involved in developing and reviewing curricula for the education of midwives and other health care professionals at different levels and designing educational and training materials for short courses and workshops for midwives and other health care professionals working in maternal and child health and sexual and reproductive health.

She is the current Editor-in-Chief for the African Journal of Midwifery and Women’s Health contributing to the journal through publishing quarterly editorials and reviewing of articles for publication.  She is also the current National Coordinator for the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood, Zimbabwe (WRAZW) and the Country Focal Group Leader for LAMRN in Zimbabwe.
